It's sweet, tangy and the perfect pairing with pork and chicken. Sweet Tea Peach BBQ sauce is not your traditional BBQ sauce, but I think it could be a new favorite!
  • ¾ Cup Peach Juice (make sure you find an all natural, no sugar added one)
  • 1 Cup Peach Tea (I used Charleston's American Classics)
  • 1 Onion, diced
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • ½ Cup White Balsamic Vinegar
  • 4 Tablespoons Tomato Paste
  • 1 Teaspoon Ground Ginger
  • ½ Teaspoon Chili Powder
  • ½ Teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Tablespoon Garlic Powder
  • ½ Teaspoon Cinnamon
  • ½ Teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
  • ¼ Teaspoon Smoke Flavoring (check the package for ingredients)
  1. To get things started peel and chop the peaches. If you're looking for a quick way to peel the peaches you can do this or you can purchase frozen peaches in a pinch.
  2. In a medium pan; saute the onions and olive oil until the onions are translucent and soft about 5 minuets. Add all of the spices (Ginger, Chili Powder, Salt, Garlic Powder, Cinnamon, Pepper); cook for one minute until they become fragrant.
  3. Next add the tomato paste and cook for one minute; add all of the liquids and the peaches. Cook the mixture over medium low for about 20 minutes until the mixture thickens. You will want to stir the peach BBQ sauce periodically so it doesn't stick.
  4. Once the sauce has reduced by ⅓ to ½ remove from the heat, and use a blender to blend until smooth. I like to keep it a bit chunky, so I set a bit aside before blending it then add it back into the velvety smooth sauce. Viola! You have Sweet Tea Peach BBQ Sauce. Next time I'm going to try making it with Mangos!
